What problem are we solving?
At the time, India’s EV infrastructure was in its early stages, and EV owners faced multiple challenges:
- Finding available charging stations: Users struggled to locate and reserve stations, particularly during busy periods.
- Real-time information: There was no accurate, real-time data on station availability or the progress of charging sessions.
- Complicated payment processes: The existing infrastructure offered limited payment methods, resulting in user frustration.
Our objective was to design a platform that made the process of finding and using EV charging stations seamless and hassle-free, while also providing administrators with an effective way to manage users and charging station operations.
Product Overview

1. Mobile App for Users
The mobile app was designed for EV owners to easily locate, reserve, and manage charging sessions. Key features included:
- Station Locator: A map-based interface to find the nearest available charging stations.
- Reservation System: Users could book charging slots in advance, ensuring availability.
- Real-time Monitoring: Live updates on the vehicle's charging status.
- Payments: Seamless payment integration, supporting UPI, credit cards, and wallets.

2. Web App for Users
The web app provided similar functionality as the mobile app but catered to users who preferred managing their charging sessions from a desktop. Features included:
- Station Search: Users could search and locate stations across different regions.
- Booking System: The web app allowed users to reserve charging slots and manage upcoming sessions.
- Account Management: Users could view their charging history, track payments, and manage their profiles.

3. Admin Portal
We also designed an Admin portal for Tata Power EZ Charge, which allowed administrators to:
- Manage Users: View and control user activity on the app, including registrations and usage statistics.
- Station Monitoring: Keep track of station performance, availability, and maintenance schedules.
- Reporting: Generate reports on station usage, payment histories, and user behaviors to optimize service.
